Event Report
By the grace of Allah, TAMVIC organised first Sister’s Sports Day on the 5th of March 2023. It was the most challenging of all the events that was organised last year. In the end, the response for the event was amazing. We conducted Badminton and Throw-ball competitions. 15 badminton teams and 6 Throw-ball teams with more than 50 sisters participated in the event which was more than double the number of participants we anticipated.
Sister Shaffna Riyaz and Sister Beema Begum Shahul Hameed of Team QueenBees are unprecedented badminton champions. They were inspiration to many. Sister Sharmila Kader Hasna and rising star Aysha Ibrahim from Sarpettai Pegions gave their absolute best and finished runners up.
Team Western Throw-birds captained by Young superstar Afsheen Anvar were the champions of the Throw-ball competition whereas Team Hijabi Hurricanes captained by sister Thasneem finished a fighting second.
Overall there were plenty of positive feedback after the event. As per our post event survey results, all the sisters chose to participate again in future which shows the success of the event. May Allah help us organise more events for sisters in our community thereby improving the physical and social wellbeing of the whole community. Jazak Allah khairan.
