About TAMVIC

Tamil Muslims of Victoria

Bringing together Muslims from Tamil Nadu origin to preserve our cultural legacy, empower future generations, and build strong connections
within Australia’s diverse society.

The Tamil Muslim Association of Victoria (TAMVIC) is a registered, non-profit organization committed to serving and connecting Muslims with Tamil Nadu heritage in Victoria. Established in 2017 by a group of migrant friends who came together with a shared goal of supporting each other, TAMVIC was incorporated in 2018 to create a sense of belonging for those who share cultural and religious ties to Tamil Nadu.

Our mission is to bring together and support individuals from diverse backgrounds who share Tamil Nadu roots, including those who may not fully identify with either the broader Tamil or Muslim communities. We understand that identity can be complex, and we strive to provide a welcoming space for all who resonate with our heritage and values.

TAMVIC organizes a variety of programs aimed at fostering connection, cultural continuity, and shared experiences, including sports activities for men, women, and children, Ramadan and Iftar gatherings, Eid celebrations, and community support initiatives, to name a few.

We welcome any Muslim with connections to Tamil Nadu, whether through birth, ancestry (parents or grandparents), or marital ties. Our community is open to all who seek support, connection, and shared traditions, regardless of how closely they identify with Tamil or Muslim cultural aspects.
