3 years ago TAMVIC part of its initial initiatives commenced a Janaza Program for our Community. This was seen as a priority and important due to the challenging experiences faced within couple of death of our community members and the challenges sourcing burial plots and managing the funeral expenses at grieving times.
To help these kind of circumstance’s, TAMVIC have been raising funds for the past 3 years but unfortunately couldn’t secure many burial plots due insufficient funds to purchase Burial plots within Inner Melbourne – Fawkner costed $8000+ Werribee $6000+, Dandenong $6000+ for 1 Burial spot, along with funds challenges last 2 years of Covid restrictions also prevented moving this project ahead s TAMVIC couldn’t organise any fundraisers or explore availability options.
At the end of 2022 TAMVIC had secured 1 burial space for our community in Fawkner cemetery and raised the total fund of $9500 to be used to buy one more burial space and the balance to handle the burial costs.
In the beginning of 2022 the Janaza program recommenced with many members participating and a good opportunity for TAMVIC to secure 20 burial plots at Lara Cemetery Islamic Section for our community was taken.
The cost per plot is around $2055, for a total cost of $41,100 to purchase the 20 Plots and we have set a 2 years timelines to achieve this based on options given to us by the Cemetery, apart from the Plots we also realised that some families may need money to manage Funeral expenses and to help the situations TAMVIC’s intension is to save some money for Funeral expenses up to approximate amount of $17,500 for an overall Target of $58,000 in Community donations and Sadaqa.
1 burial plot entitles for 2 Janaza, if 1 family donates or purchase 1 plot can be used for 2 Janaza – further details of how the community plots will be dispensed, the rules and request will be discussed and finalised in once the Purchase process is complete.

In addition to the community plots, the program also expanded to include procuring individual plots for TAMVIC members who opted in buy plots for their family within the Islamic Section of Lara Cemetery. The advantage being, we deal all the purchases as one program and the plots will all be close to each other within the Islamic Section.
Once the individuals complete their payments the plots will be transferred to their name by end of the program period.

20 plots been cash purchased and fully paid for approximately $41,100
17 plots were for personal
3 plots were for community
Purchase and repayment agreement was entered for another 40 plots with a 20% down payment amount of $16,440 and rest as EMI for 24 months @$2740 per month
